Highly effective BMW commercial

a truly terrifying showcase for the 2006 BMW 330i.

Yea, it was a while back in Houston, Texas I believe.

The 330i was just running laps around the cops while weaving in and out of traffic.

the new 3 series has a lot of torque in the higher power band... or at least it better because there wasn't any in the bottom when I test drove it... I'm glad to see the baby was ok. That woman wasn't the one driving, she was the passenger. That video does make the BMW look pretty good though... high speeds, great handling and excellent accident protection.

Havent watched the video yet, however, as far as out running police cars, Crown Victorias aren't ungodly faster with a light bar on top of them.... an accord can run circles around them... Thats why they keep "pursuit" cars and "patrol" cars... for a situation like this, townships where I used to live used Camaro Z-28's for pursuit... but with all the extra gear in them, it makes them a little on the slow side for a LS1 car (plus 90% of the time they are auto, and dont get into an auto vs manual war, LS1 autos are way slower than LS1 manuals, its just life, its not like our car that actually has a "good" auto). Either way, ive seen mid 80's mercedes 6 cylinder 4 doors out running cop cars like it was nothing. Theyre the police, not nascar.

HA! Cops now have HEMI-power! They are issuing a large amount of dodge chargers to the NYPD in my area. I was actually at an auto-X event at the meadowlands in NJ where they had 20 Dodge Charger cruisers for officers to take out and do laps with.

Are you sure they are the actual Hemi chargers? I'd find it hard to believe that police are cruising around in that "expensive" of a vehicle. Most fleet served cars are base models and stripped, not the 35k (correct me if I'm wrong) super upgraded version. It has nothing to do with what the company itself offers, you try to convince a town that spending an extra 15+K per vehicle is worth it b/c cops need a hemi. Now, if they city does do that (actually get hemi models), maybe they will realize they need faster cops not faster cop cars.

Don't know the specifics, but it looks like it was a mixed bag from this article:

Firt off all that guy was a MORON by enering the entrance ramp from the freeway, and he should be in jail for attempted murder. Second its good to know we can draw circles around cops even on the freeway.
