..... race in Hermosa Beach, CA
Not sure what these boats are called...pontoons? Kayaks? Dinghys? Either way, we went there for what we thought was a Surfing convetion, and stumbled across this event. Consisted of rowing from one side of the pier to the other side 2 times, running out to a flag in between. Heres some photos I took using my 100-400L. First time taking pictures of a sporting event, so C&C is welcome, and encouraged.

Thanks, Marcus. I was standing next to a guy using a 5D with a 600mm prime...needless to say, I got lens envy.

Yeah, they are dark. Most of these were shot around 9-10am, and there was a bit of cloud cover. I tried to minimize the amount of PP done. The brighter ones, were done so using DPP.

OR....
you can ask for the prime 600mm NOW, then say you'll be taking photos and selling them to magazines or whatever. The funds from that, would be a down for an ocean view home, as well as your son's college education. **Off to run that by the wifey**
