It's a...
Canon G9? Who would've thought that I would buy a Canon product (if you don't understand, view EXIF data of the supplied picture).
 Well after much research, much Strobist reading, and this video, I have decided to buy this great little camera instead of the just-announced Nikon P6000 (which, if it takes after the P5100, won't even come close to the G9). I was in the market for something powerful enough for a shooter like myself that doesn't weigh a ton like my usual workhorse... something I could bring to the beach - or even put in my pocket! I'll give you guys some sample shots once I get the hang of it, and a brief review of how it performs. Hopefully some others will jump in on the point and shoot fun, too! Anyways, let me know if you have any specific questions/things you want me to test. I will also be posting some of the few pics I was able to snap on my trip to Kaua'i last weekend sometime soon, hopefully to bring a little bit of the islands to everyone on g35driver.

heard great reviews on this camera! lately the size of my 20D has been keeping me from bringing it places. way too bulky and too noticeable for candids

Great pic. Please let me know what you think as my old man wants to replace his old Nikon N70 film SLR with either an entry DSLR (450Xsi, Olympus something...), or just go with a prosumer pocket size one (G9 or S5-IS).
