Going to a drift event/Car show today, which lense? Updated with pics
Heading to Formula Drift today, and would like to only bring one lense for my E-500. Should I bring the 14-45 or the 40-150?

40-150 for the drift event (even that might not be long enough depending on where you are).
14-45 for the car show. You decide which you want more, lol.

Here's the few okay shots I got. It was raining on and off and the clouds were moving quite a bit which made lighting conditions a nightmare. Not a lot of tire smoke either due to the wet track. Only brought the 40-150mm lense so no pics of the cars at the show section, and there were way too many people to get a decent shot anyway. My seat sucked too and the fence was in the way for a lot of the shots. This is my first time doing panning shots with cars moving, so be gentle with the criticisms

Sounds like you had a tough shooting environment, looks like you got some decent shots though given the challenges. I have not mastered the technique of panning, but have done it enough times to know the basics. My suggestion to you is to shoot in shutter priority. You want to choose a shutter speed that while the shutter is open you track your subject which will render your subject "in focus" and create a blurred background. Not sure of the speed of those cars, but when I did some panning at the drag races I found 1/80 to be the optimal shutter speed for how fast the cars/bikes were moving down the track. You have to experiment a bit with the shutter speed and adjust accordingly.
