Hey Photography folks

I wanted to give a heads up. I told my cousin's wife to share the existence of this forum with their daughter. She is about 16 and wants to be a professional photographer. I know some of you have a wealth of knowledge to share and aren't weirdos so I figured she was safe here. LOL

Since she would be a newbie, I thought I would give a heads up so no one gave her grief about how she found the forum since she isn't a car person and they don't have a G.

Wait, you're seriously sending a 16 year old girl ANYwhere on this forum? LOL
Have you lost your ever-lovin' MIND?!?!?!

That's why I gave a heads up and why I told her mom EXACTLY where on this forum to go for the information. She might browse but it doesn't seem like her personality. She is VERY focused on her interests and cars is certainly not one of them.

If anyone bothers her, I will personally cut their nuts off.

If she lives around here she can come with Nicole and I one weekend and we'll go show her some stuff.

Does she have a camera?

I was actually going to talk to you about that. They live over in Minor, one street over from my dad. I thought she just had a bit of a passing interest but I called Naomi to tell her that I knew someone selling a camera like mine and she said they were planning to get her a camera for Christmas because she was so serious about it. She wants to be a photographer for something like National Geographic. Of course, I immediately thought of Bob so I told her tell Raven about this forum.

Naomi sounded really interested in getting Michael's camera so we'll see if they decide to get it. Raven was drooling over mine when I was taking the boys' picture after the funeral. She knew exactly what kind it was from seeing it across the room. She's a very bright girl so I think she can do well with this if she applies herself (and it looks like she will).

No offense to any of the forum members, but if I were you I'd send her to a dedicated photography forum. You never know what she may be exposed to here. This place should seriously be rated RR...

A few excellet photography forums include (in no particular order):

The wealth of information and the level of knowledge far exceeds this sub forum, more importantly, she will be much safer on of those.

Well I thought she would be VERY interested in Bob's photos and I trust him and the few others who seem to know what's what with the photography stuff. I have no knowledge of the other forums so I would rather let someone here who DOES know about them refer her. She may decide not to try to come on here at all but I figured I would give a heads up in case she does.

Understood... however I think Cheryl's right, at least here she can keep an eye on her. If the girl is on the internet, I think THIS place is the least of anyone's worries. LOL (By all means, keep her well away form the RSX forums. LOL)

I agree that she needs to hit up other forums, but this one isn't a bad place to get your feet wet and at least see some guys who are into the hobby and get some of the lingo down.

Just dropping into potn or one of the others can blow your mind if you're 16 and only been shooting for a day and a half.

I have absolutely no illusions to her not being well aware of things in the world. She goes to public school and has access to the internet.

That can happen if you are 30 and have only been shooting for a day and a half.

hehe.
I know what ye mean.. My lady's younger sister in a sophomore...>_<
the forum i've mentioned is a forum full of photographers.. A few authors, have a mentoring program. It is the place where you can get not only critique, but a guidance to improve yourself.
