First shots with my new 100-400
So as I mentioned in my 'musical lenses' thread, I had a change of heart and had to let the 70-200 f2.8 IS go. It is an awesome piece of glass but I wasn't taking advantage of of its feature (fast aperture and IS). Instead, when I had it mounted on the camera, speed was never an issue, but range (or the lack of it thereof) was. Enter the 100-400... - just got it a couple of hours ago and so far I'm loving it!
 Takes a bit to get use to the push/pull zoom and the 400mm end, but I like it. Thanks to Bob and Marcus for inspiring me. I think I'm starting to appreciate wildlife photography I have a lot to learn from these two and both should expect a few PMs full of questions from me ...  1. A little rock in a pond at a nearby park @ 400mm  2. Panning with IS mode 2   3. Some lady and her dog. I was standing 20 ft. away and she didn't even notice my big white lens...   4. The obligatory duck(s) shot  5. A Seagull on final approach   6. Circling the airbase...

I want to see a full size of the gull circling shot please.
NOW! Nice ones - how do you like the BIG GUN? Push/pull was odd for me too at first, now the twist zoom on my 100-300 seems out of place.

I did however keep a few others - deleted them into my recycle bin because I didn't like the way they came out, but at least they are full size... I like the big gun, especially when it's erected... the ladies love it too! A couple of others in full size (Flickr compression killed them )

Thanks for the full views.
The reason I asked for them is because I often delete the shot if it isn't near-perfect in full crop. I know that the downsize hides flaws, but was curious what your full-frame looked like in comparison for what I consider "acceptable." I can't tell you how happy I am that there is someone else sporting the same lens so I could get a feel for my end result. We have the same camera, and same lens - it's a great reference. Thanks bro!
