my first photo to make it to flickr's explore front page! its funny cuz i actually thought some of my other photos that never even made it to explore are better... oh well.. whatever... you can click on the photo to check it out on my photostream... here's the screenshot from explore:

Sweet! Congrats man.

I've had 6 photos make explore (but never the front page like your shot!) and only 2 of the 6 I would consider to be my some of my best shots. Just depends on how much others comment and favorite a particular photo.

thanks! flickr rates a picture's "interestingness" based on how many comments and how quickly it got comments, how many people marked it as a favorite, views, and what groups its a part of. if you go to flickr and click on explore, you can look at any particular day's top 500 photos... sometimes crappy photos make it, but for most cases the photos are great.. looking through explore is a nice way to pass the time...

Yeah, that's the same tool I use to see which of my photos made the top 500 and how high they got on the list.
