The bitch of it is, I saw the whole thing and stood there like an idiot.
Wife and I were walking the beach and a shadow went overhead - fast. The water at the bottom of the picture is a tide pool that opens to the sound. He hit the water and snatched the crab, then flared and landed on the sandbar and immediately tore the claws off and threw them with his beak. It doesn't look that big, but that is a big crab, probably over a pound. Everytime I hit the shutter, he would look at me just like that - "bring it bitch.." I was at a ridiculous distance, but shot it anyway. I have some others, but I like this one because of his expression, and because you can see that big talon of his..
