^^ That is what I would do. I'll eventually upgrade to a FF as well, but not for a long time.

im really surprised... i assumed it would have been 18 months (from last august when the 40d was announced) before the 50d was announced - just like it was before. i was expecting an announcement for the 5dmkii... maybe in a month at photokina?

I just don't get caught up in the latest and greatest. If you can't take a good picture with a 30D/40D D100/D200, you won't be able to take any better pictures with a 50D or D300. Some of the newer features are great, no doubt, but for what these toyz cost, it's pointless to keep upgrading and upgrading. Hell, I still haven't used all the features in my D200
