become disillusioned by the cost of modern photography, sell everything and buy a G11?

or just win the lotto and buy the entire L lens, damn, why stop there? Buy the entire Canon EOS body and lens catalog plus the few rarites around (EF 50 L f/1.0, etc.).

so would I but the last 1 I saw was used for over $3000. I figured my 85 f/1.2 Mk1 @ 1/3 that price will just have to do.

dang.

I have solved my own upgrade addiction, at least for awhile. I went through my gear list and added everything up........ I felt a little queasy. My gear is already way too nice for my skill level, there is absolutely no reason to spend any more money! At least until the next time I wish I had an f/2.8......DAMMIT!!!!!!

hehehehehe. No cure like reality. I saw you in the gear thread. How current is that? I saw you talk about a 100-400 but not listed?

Mostly a 5dmkII as they seem to pair perfectly, for me at least. I've tried it on the 7D with great results but the framing feels weird after it's been on the 5d. I bought a 50 f/1.4 for the 7d for the similar framing and learned in the process that while I don't like 85mm on a 1.6x sensor, I do like 50mm on the full frame.

I updated it today with the 7D that I have ordered. I traded my 50D in at Adorama against it. I did have the 100-400mm for a couple months but I ended up selling it on POTN. It was a nice lens but I just decided I wasn't going to use it enough. I paid $1,460 for it and sold it for $1,300 so I didn't lose too much. The only thing I was using it for was my nephew's sports and even then only outdoors because it wasn't fast enough for indoors. Once I tried to shoot some birds at a wildlife sanctuary with it and instead of having fun I felt like I had discovered some new kind of torture! So now I just use my 70-200 for the sports and on a crop body it works out just fine. The total value of my gear is small compared to some on here I realize, but for someone who just does it as a hobby and gets no income it is higher than I would like.

I seem to love the 85mm on a crop sensor so if I ever go full frame I might have to go for the 135mm

Sell off some of those bags and a tripod. Thats a lens right there.

I know what you mean. I'm just a carried-away dad and my kid doesn't pay well.

Anyone have a cure for this upgrade addiction?
Nope.. cuz my next purchase now is the Tammy 17-50 f2.8.. bwahahahaha.. Gotta replace that freaking KIT lens (18-55). I wonder how that 24-70 would look on a crop frame.. can't wait to see pics..
