Expert Photoshopers, need your advice.

expert shoppers, i got a question, if you use a mouse, do you just use magnetic lasso, or do you just use the regular one and just take your time, cause i just cant get the selection right when i use magnetic.

use the regular lasso tool and make a rough outline of whatever you want.. then select the magic wand tool, hold down alt and click in between your selection and the image you want to cut out.. change the tolerance at the top to make it less or more selective to color. I'm not sure if this makes any sense, it takes practice to get it right.. and while you're in the magic wand tool, you can go to the bottom left panel and select the quick mask button, then select your brush and paint until you get rid of the red areas inside your image. (red is not selected, no red is selected when in quick mask mode, hit "d" to enter white and black paint mode, then hit "x" to switch between white and black. I believe black is deselect and white is select.

me too , this imo is the most precise way of cutting out things and it makes it easier also if you store the path, then you can use that selection again.

i use the poly lasso when i just need to cut something out in no particular shape, but for specific outlines i always use the path, it's faster and more efficient than making 100 click to make circle with the lasso.
