mccain, you idiot, this is the real plan!
inflate your tires, and get a tune up!
this is the solution according to obama. no sh*t. he said if we all inflated our tires, that would save as much oil than if we drilled here... that is so cool. i'm no longer going to slam obama - his ideas are second to none. mccain needs to jump on board with what the people really need/want. more oil won't solve anything. let's fix this with another round of rebate checks - so we can all get tune-ups and fix this energy crisis we are in, so we get this economy going again... brilliant. thanks guys for opening my eyes to change! ![]()

Then when everyone OVER inflates their tires and wear them out quicker more oil and other resources will be used to make more tires.

It has been reported that upto a fourth of all cars on the road today are operating with under inflated tires or have not been properly maintained to run optimally. This translates into lower MPG rates and the bottom line is, we could do better to save the gas we have now so we can be proactive about reducing demand.
With energy prices spiking and energy corporations jockeying to maximize profits, no comprehensive energy plan would be viable without looking at the other side of the energy policy equation.... Conservation and optimal use!!!

no, no, no... you're missing obama's point. we don't need more oil... just more money (in the form of rebates) to get tune-ups, and air in your tires... and this is the energy solution.
you're reading way too much into it. i don't want to put words in his mouth, that would be wrong. let's examine this at face value. i like this idea, because i get more money.

General rebate checks for the sole purpose of alleviating gas prices is ridiculous and cannot be managed to drive behavior. I could envision vouchers, but to which nationwide Jiffy Lube wannabe would you make such a deal with? I think it would be more effective to run a public service announcement campaign along with free checkup events and clinics that could be worked with local businesses to provide incentives to "do the right thing." I hear about too many "checks" being handed out to undeserving people only to be used on alcohol and drugs... Sometimes it boggles the mind how badly our entitlement system is run.

and yet you want to vote for somebody who wants to expand social/entitlement programs?
i think obama is great because i get more money (i'm middle class). but this may not necessarily benefit the nation as a whole.

liquidgx - mccain is not the symbol of hope that we've all been waiting for...
the light will shine down on you as you vote for obama (i'm not making this up - he said this). obama is the reason that people can get healthcare without insurance. he's the reason the price of oil is coming down (followed by the democratic congress' extreme commitment to resolve this before the recess, despite republicans unwillingness to resolve the issue, no matter the cost).

I consider either of these boobs an upgrade to the monkey you voted in last time. That being said, a choice between two evils still must be made.
I'm going to vote for Obama just because it will piss you off ![]()
