Looks like Georgia made the first move. I guess they suck at chess.

I wonder what the US would do if Mexico decided to take Texas back, or California...

Let me break it down. From what the news said, South Osseti is located in Georgia but they are independent. They want to unite with North Osseti which is located in Russia. Georgia wants to prevent this so they doing it by force and since Russia wants Osseti united under Russia, they countering Georgia. Now that Russia has bend Georgia over, Georgia now screaming rape and asking mercry.

Wow, the news is spinning this in such a BS way. "We demand a cease fire"... excuse me Mr. Bush, aren't you the one who attacked 2 different countries?

Georgia killed 2000 civilians in S. Ossetia before Russia moved in to defend the people there and they're making it seem like Russia is the bad guy? BS. The news anchor's are such idiots, this whole thing is pissing me off. USA is being VERY VERY hypocritical in this situation. Georgia is the aggressor, NOT Russia.

The US likes to have it's enemies, and the Russians fit the bill very nicely. They will just fall into their old stereotypes, and mental images. It won't be long until Rush, Beck, Hannity, et al start prattling on about commies this, commies that.

Georgia is an ally of the US arn't they? But seriously, Russia did over played it with the huge amount of force they sent in there. I'm on russia side but it doesn't matter who started what, it matters only that Russia the 2nd power on earth is bullying this tiny little country and thats what the world see it as.

Overplay with the huge amount of force? I didn't hear much of that when Israel went in to Lebanon. It does seem to be a different kettle of fish when it's your ally doing the bullying.
