Obama And McCain on same stage tv event.
ANyone saw that 2 hour tv event?
Obama was the first hour and McCain was the 2nd hour. To be honest, when it was over, my opinions about McCain changed alil abit towards the good side. Because his answers were so good. Seriously, too good. and compare to Obama, he answered everything so quickly. Then right afterwards, cnn critics were saying that McCain had a heads up on what the questions were and had time to prep for them while Obama was doing it genuinely. Opinions please. |

I found it kinda ironic that about his comments about Clarence Thomas, "I don't think that he was a strong enough jurist or legal thinker at the time for that elevation" basically saying he didn't have enough experience

Obama's most gut wrenching decision, whether or not to support the invasion of Iraq, he wasn't even in the Senate then...
I have had to make some decisions in life that I wish upon no one, and they rank a lot higher than that worthless answer..

That whole event stank. The whole idea to run some kind of mock debate at a church out of all places?
I found it funny to see Obama squirm with the abortion questions in a crowd like that. As for the debate regarding education, it is simply another institution that is being led to the slaughter for privatization. Once the corporations take charge of our children's education, I'm sure it will be much better than all of the other institutions that we have privatized, like Medicare for example...

but +1 on your response. this was another way to place a prepositioned response in the wrong question. all of his answers are already written, he just doesn't know the right questions to put them with. mccain is good at thinking of his own answers/positions (either that, or the 70 yr old is just quicker on his feet). it might have something to do with experience. ![]()

I thought the event was on the spot question answering?
Or did they get the list of questions ahead of time? IMO i thought they didn't get the questions ahead of time and Obama answered it very smartly taking each one at a time. McCain was 2nd, critics have said that his answers were too fast, and i personally thought his answers were way too good and fast at the same time for someone that was suppose to not know the question yet. I think McCain had a heads up when Obama was on stage. |

that's possible... but what can you do? put mccain in a sound proof room while the first contestant hears the questions?

Wasn't that how it was supposed to be? I know they are saying he was en route when Obama started and that he could have listened in then, and that he could have had a phone conversation with someone listening while he was in the green room, but all that seems like circumstantial evidence. You can come up with a million "what if he did this to cheat" as to why McCain came off as good as he did doesn't make any of them true But I'm sure both have been to a farm, doesn't mean they had sex with farm animals...

I think the matter of coming up with answers quickly and "good" has something to do with a fairly firm and established set of values which McCain has. I'd like to think that at this stage of his political career he has pretty firm viewpoints on specific issues. Obama is a much "greener" politican who hasn't had to answer the same questions 1000000x in his career, he may have to think for a second before he sprouts off an answer. This can go both ways with obama being open to change and new ideas while McCain refusing to compromise as easily. It all boils down to what you look for in a candidate.
