We pay taxes, but GE, Exxon Mobile and BOA do not.

You must all feel proud that we are picking up the tabs. But hey, those corporations are providing jobs so who cares right?

Interesting how the people who need a tax break, (The middle class) are the ones picking up the tabs.

GE Pays Zero income tax. Although they recorded a 5 billion dollar profit. They also claimed a tax benefit of 3.2 billion.

GE files a 24,000 page Tax Return, KNOWING the IRS are not capable of reviewing it. GE hires at least 1,000 people to prepares it's tax return.

Tim Pawlenty Is Pretty Sure Bank Of America's Taxes Are Too Damn High

Actually, it's ZERO.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_830827.html

Big Corps use LOOPEHOLES and offshore bank accounts.... While we pick up the tab. Those tea baggers must be feeling pretty damn stupid right now. Yeah, scream about high taxes. Now you know why it's high. We're picking the tab....

All this 'fighting' between Democrats and Republicans is just a smoke screen. To keep people distracted while the large corporation pays nothing. Well, they do pay off a couple of Republican Lobbyists. But that's a good thing right?

We can vote (like it matters) think Bush. But the Corporations can buy it. Guess who's winning. Certainly not us.

Some get rebates also. So they actually get paid on top of paying 0 tax.

Not that simple...

http://www.fool.com/investing/genera...-tax-code.aspx

Read this article and you will understand how they pulled it off. The average citizen can do the same thing. They are simply taking advantage of a broken tax system. You incur losses on your investments you do them as write-offs its no different what companies do. GE simply used their financial side to write off their losses as an example.

It has nothing to do with Republicans or Tea Party... understand the topic before you jack off to Huffington Post crap. Why haven't the democrats made any effort to overhaul the IRS and its dated tax system??

GE also runs much of their operations overseas so they don't have to pay USA taxes.

Not quite sure how the ave Joe can do this

Notice how no "republican" is posting here. They'll just blankly blame Obama for everything.

Forgetting that Obama too is a puppet that works for the Corporation. Just like Bush.

If it was cheaper and I had a way to get my water, electricity, phone and natural gas then I have my household operations run overseas too.

But it's not and you can't.

I mostly reference trying to hide your wealth overseas. But I think that's called tax evasion. Generally frowned upon when the "ave Joe" tries it.

I am a Republican and strangely (and terrifyingly) agree with you. All the major politicians have to cater to their biggest campaign donation source. Whether its an oil company or union buddies.

hey don't blame the corporations for doing it, it's not their fault for finding loopholes and being able to work the system. blame the gov for allowing it to happen. you know you would do the same if you could.

The problems is they are not 'finding' loopholes, they are creating them. Corporations and investment funds spend literally hundreds of millions of dollars a year lobbying Congress and the IRS to insert language into the tax code that's favorable to their particular situation. Why do you think the code is so long? The average Joe will NEVER have that type of access.

That's the crux of the problem : how do you 'fix' the tax code? Just have everyone pay a flat 10% of what they make? Well, through accounting people seem to be able to make it look like they didn't make a thing.

I don't have an answer, any ideas?

there's a reason our tax code the way it is today is because lobbyists (who write the legislation and tell their minion..er, congressperson to pass it) want it that way. Corporations pay no taxes and we're the fools who have to pay. Tax the rich (remember, a corporation counts as a person) and your taxes will be lower, guaranteed.
