Here is a my twist on spaghetti:
What you need: - 1 pack of Italian Sausage (5 large links) - Olive Oil - 1 Bottle of Marinara Sauce (16 oz I believe) - 1 8oz can of diced tomatoes (without any seasoning) - 4 Minced cloves of fresh garlic - 1 large onion, minced Italian seasoning - Burgundy, Merlot, Cabernet Sauv, Bordeaux wine. All work yet change the flavors slightly. It's fun to play with each. - Port Wine - Spaghetti or Linguine Disclaimer: I never measure anything, so it may take you a couple times to get a feel for the recipe, and, put your own spin on it. Defrost your sausage, remove them from their casings and crumble (or slice). Mince your garlic and onions and get a large pan ready. Pour a fair amount of oilve oil in the pan and turn stove to medium-high. Once the oilve oil is warmed through, put in the miced garlic and onion. Stir constantly to keep the onion and garlic moving. You just want to brown them. Once browned, add the crumbled sausage to the onions and garlic at repeat the browning process. After you are done browning, find a large microwaveable bowl to put sausage mixture in. Set the pan aside because you won't need it anymore. To the sausage mixture in your micro. bowl, add the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and 3/4 cup to a cup of one of the red wines (burgundy, bordeaux, cab sauv., or merlot). Also add a pinch of port wine (this is an important step). Stir ingredients and add italian seasoning, liberally. Now it's time to microwave (yes I use the microwave. Trust me, it will still be a bi*chin' meal). Place the sauce you created into the microwave and cover. Microwave 12 minutes on full power. Meanwhile, get your noodles ready. I'm going to assume that most of you know how to cook noodles. After the 12 minutes are up, take the bowl out and stir. Add more italian seasoning if you'd like. Then place the bowl back into the microwave and warm your sauce for 10 -12 minutes on 50% power. Once that is done, serve immediately. You can serve one of two ways. You can add the sauce to the noodles directly (recommended) in a large bowl and toss. Or you can individually serve noodles with sauce poured on top. Serve with parmesan cheese and garlic bread! YUM. ![]()
