Smile My Mom's Fried Asian-style Chicken Recipe

I wanted to share this recipe .... I am famous in my neighborhood making this and passing on the tradition that my mom taught me. I always make this for parties for my kid's b-day and holidays.
It is sweet but the crushed red pepper is like a KICK. I say it is ONOLICIOUS!!!

This makes whole pan of chicken wings..about 10 pounds.
Ingredients:
10 lbs. chicken wings: drumettes cuts is good to use too.
oil...canola...for the deep fryer or in a pan.
3 cups of flour...should be enough to coat 10 pounds.

dipping the chicken sauce ingredients:
One bunch of green onions: thinly sliced
1 whole garlic- minced garlic
1 tablespoon-crushed red pepper
3 cups Aloha bbq soy sauce( from Hawaii or any asian store that carries the Brand.) or the substitute:
3 cups soy sauce and 1-1/2 cup sugar....you have make it sweet. You can use brown sugar if you want.

See photo:

STEPS:
First thing...in a large bowl, put soy sauce, then minced garlic, thinly sliced green onions, crushed red pepper. Mixed together.

Then you need to do is coat the chicken wings in the flour. Fry them until golden brown. Use a good deep fryer.

After frying,(you can let them settle on lined paper towel plate to remove excess oil)....but for me...I prefer to dip them(right away) into the bowl of the ingredients...what this will do to the (hot) chicken will soak the flavors of the soy sauce, garlic, crushed red pepper, and green onions. Then set them on platter w/ lining of waxed paper or paper towel.... serve this chicken with jasmine rice or noodles or eat em' up just like that.

ENJOY!!

OMG, those look delicious!! I try and stay away from fried foods, but I'm gonna have to make an exception with those.

Thanks for posting it up.

Canuck....Try them by not flouring the chicken for low carb. I make them without using flour for a friend who is on a low carb diet. Still yummy and taste the same!

Awesome, thanks for the tip.

I just thought of something though, I don't own a deep fryer. I suppose I could probably get by using a large sauce pan.........do you think so?
