Thumbs up GroundingGear™ Activated Carbon HEPA Filter

Finally installed Gordgee's In Cabin Micro Filter... Active carbon HEPA - excellent quality, perfect fitment! Installation was cake (thanks to DaveO having previously done one or more)...

Initial impressions: Let me start by saying - If the dealer tells you don’t need to replace, do it anyway. As much as I appreciated my dealer service not wanting me to waste money, I had a musky/dusty smell with the fan on without AC - with the AC on and air recirculation in the cabin it was fine. I thought it was something I would have to deal with... since I have a couple of air purifiers at home with active carbon I was anxious to try Gordgee's since I've heard good things about his products.

I'm happy to report that the musky/dusty smell is gone! The air smells fresh and relatively clean. To state it simply, it's definitely worth the purchase and easy install!

Attached is a pic of the filthy OEM filter after about 22K miles. I should have changed when the smell started. BTW – the filter should be completely white (in case you didn’t know).

Thanks Gord

I have a personal Paypal account (no credit card, direct money transfer only) for those that absolutely cannot send a MO or Cheque.

Because of the way they set-up the accounts for non-US based bank transfers, etc. I end up losing money when I access the USDs in the account. It's also caused a few screw-ups that have already caused cancelled sales.

I'd have to charge above the R&D prices for you fellows in order to accept Paypal. (The high CDN dollar is also affecting all Canadian manufacturers exporting to the US, and I haven't done an increase for over a year)

So in general, Paypal has to be a no, unless absolutely necessary, and even then, expect some possible glitches.

My 1st one went for 2 years. This spring, the one that I installed last summer is already absolutely filthy, so driving conditions seem to have a lot to do with it.

I thought the charcoal was a different filter? I only have the charcoal filter in mine. Do I need a standard filter too?

This was a great add-on when ordering my grounding kit. The A/C was starting to put out a slight sour smell at 24k miles which was completely fixed by the new charcoal filter.

i'd thought the nissan oem charcoal filter had a grayish look to them (not very white like the standard paper filter).... at least that's how it was with my 2k2 6spd maxima with the in-cabin filters....
