Fast Intentions Catback and HFC dyno'd

Hey all. Yesterday I had my car dyno'd at New England Dyno and Tunning and was very happy with my results. I had this installed by a local guy that really knows his ........ well stuff. He's really cocky but I put up with it because of his knowledge and also this guy can bend pipes!!! He did my custom exhaust on my previous car and extremely well! When I first went to see him I told him I had a bolt up kit for the car that I wanted installed. The first words out of his mouth were...... "Ha!!! Yeah right. I'll be the judge of that". See what I mean??? I returned a couple hours later to find him looking at the instructions that come with the kit. He went on about the kit being very easy to put on and the great instructions you get. He tells me some of the other kits out there are a joke and instructions for the do it yourselfer???? He wouldn't shut up and let me hear the thing. Once I got out I very pleased at the tone, much deeper and louder than stock. From the inside again a deeper sound and louder than stock. At cruise it actually disappears but when you ask for gas, you know it's there. I know this has changed over the first 2 weeks that I have had it on for. It's gotten a little deeper and louder than when first installed. The thing also I like is that the "Hon" ( Like "honky" without the "key" part) part of the stock sound is gone.

Well on to the dyno. Below is the 2 best pulls put together. The only thing different is the FI combo and I did add a JWT popcharger instead of my K&N panel filter. I did 4 pulls, all being very close to each other. The graph went to prove my thoughts that out of the hole not much changed but a 5th to 3rd romp???? Oh Baby!!!! Pulls very nice!!!

As far as customer service goes from FI......... top notch!!! I don't know if you read my write up on one of my Cats getting dinged up during shipping. I know it was really FedEx's problem because someone opened the box and probably a cat fell out. The only thing missing was the instructions!!! LOL I spoke to Tony on Thursday morning about it and by Monday I had my new cat at no cost to me. Tony is a straight up kind of a guy and if you work with him, he'll definitely work with you. OK Go look at the graph. Can't wait to get started on my next project which I will share.

That's all you have is a Z/tube+K&N filter + FI exhaust + FI High Flow Cats?

If that's the case, you've got pretty good numbers there.

Do you have a baseline dyno run or is that the 245hp?

Not bad gains. I like how the torque is increased a bit way down below and the mid-range and high are increased.

Are those ceramic HFCs or the Metallic ones?

Thanks for sharing.

The 245 was the first dyno. The only thing I had on was a Z tube and a K@N panel style filter.

fast intention has 400 cell ceramics and 300 cell metallics.

its highly suggested to get metallic for f/i cars as metallics are more durable.

also, in this case, since the metallics are 300 cell they are less restrictive than the 400 cell ceramics. not that it will make a huuuge difference, i opted for the metallics. only the best for my g

hmm..actually..i found this PM that tony sent me..cause i was wondering what the difference is between 400 and 300 cell..so this should clear some things up..

"300 Cell Metallic:
It is a metallic foil rolled then heat treated for integrity. They hold up very well against heat and are reccommended for FI applications. They are also less restrictive then a 400 cell ceramic so they will make more power.

400 Cell Ceramic:
It is a honeycomb style ceramic brick. They are essentialy an upgraded version of stock cats. They are much less restrictive then stock cats but don't flow as well as the Metallic's do."
