Sedan MREV, Stillen CAI and Stillen Exhaust dynos

Here’s the dyno information from today’s dyno as well as the stock and MREV peak and mean average HP and TQ numbers. For the mean average numbers we used all the data points from 2500-6250rpm as the data below 2500 rpm is inconsistent between the runs. We stopped the data at 6250rpm because the MREV causes the power to drop off at that point. There’s no arguing that the stock mean numbers would look a little better if they were calculated to 7000rpm. Note: Today’s Dyno A/F on two runs the sniffer got thrown out of the muffler when the REVs got really high. The first run was the best one and was the only one the sniffer did not come out. The 3rd run on the graph was done in 3rd gear for fun. No cool down runs. Back to back.

Now here is my stock dyno information: Dyno 1

Stock HP PEAK: 252.16@6300rpm
Stock TQ PEAK: 231.00@4950rpm

Stock MEAN HP: 185.82
Stock MEAN TQ: 223.53

And now the MREV install #’s: Dyno 1 (Same dyno as stock, different day, same car)

Mods: MREV Kit only with stock intake and filter.

MREV HP PEAK: 248.77@6150rpm
MREV TQ PEAK: 237.64@4450rpm

MREV MEAN HP: 187.95
MREV MEAN TQ: 225.83

Todays Dyno numbers: Dyno 2 (Different Dyno than above, different day, same car)

Mods: MREV, Stillen CAI, Stillen Exhaust Gen1

Peak HP: 255.13 @ 6250
Peak TQ: 244.61 @ 4500

Mean HP between 2500 rpms and 6250 rpms:

HP: 193.31
TQ: 232.25

I would definitely prefer to dyno on the same machine at the same place, but when there was a dyno day for $30 bucks, what can I tell you. I will return to the original dyno next time they have a dyno day or I have some free time.

Amazing results IMHO. The numbers speak for themselves. I will let you guys decide. J.

Very nice. How are you liking the sound? I really like the little kick it gives and the sound.

Congratulations Russ, those are some really impressive results.

I wish I had a 6MT.

I love the sound. On the highway its pretty quiet and doesn't bother me at all. But driving around town. The radio is off now. Because I love how it sounds! It's music to my ears I guess you can say.

It is the greatest sound when your moving up the RPMs and right around 4K on the tach it's almost like a boost feeling. I understand how some might not like the sound intensity but you gotta pay to play.

Hey, Russ . . . Watch your mpg over the next few tanks of gas. My mpg has taken a dump since I installed my HKS. I can't seem to let off of the right pedal.

Using different dynos is a huge no-no when trying to correlate data.

If I'm reading this right, your car has gained about an average of 8whp and 9wtq compared to stock. Assuming your averaging calculations are right your car is about .1 and 1mph faster with the MREV, CAI, and TD compared to stock. It is good to see that you are noting average numbers though because those numbers tell you the most about how the car will behave at WOT.

Your comment is not worth more than 10 seconds of my time. Looking forward to seeing your dyno results.

Very well, I'm just calling it as I see it. You said they were "amazing results" and I'm seeing an average gain of 8whp and 9whp with $2000+ in power mods. Your definition of amazing and mine must be completely different.

As for my dynos, you'll never see them. I never plan on dynoing the car. The track is far more fun and useful.

Chill out guys.. why hate? even tho the gains might not be worth the money to some of us (actually I felt the gain from the Stillen TD, and I loved it)... as long as the user (G35_TX) is happy, we should be happy for him !

Relax

Relax

All I did was say that he shouldn't be using dynos from different machines to compare his gains/losses and he come back with his usual 10 to 30 second statement.

It is imperitive that you use the same machine everytime. Even Russ knows this because he's given many people grief for doing the same thing. Apparently his doesn't like getting a shot of own medicine.

Do you not read what people type? I *know* that I have asked you this before!

He says in the first post that he is fully aware of the fact that this is a different dyno and that while the best way to measure gain is with the same dyno, this is what he had available for the moment.

I am so tired of the bitching back and forth with you all. I know that there is some history here. I will say that there is ill behavior on BOTH sides and it just is getting old. Stop coming on threads just to pick and pick! If you can't read what the other person writes then don't respond - that goes for all involved should it apply!

I vote that you just type a message that says "I disagree" and then if the other person asks or someone else asks *then* you can elaborate further. (I know that may be just a bit much to ask though)

As taken from his orginal post:

I found the results neither amazing and the numbers say nothing really because he's comparing two different machines. For all we know, his car might dyno higher/lower/same on the original machine. He said "let you guys decide" so I did. That's all. He's the one that chooses to get pissy.
