Stillen Hi-Flow Airbox

I have had the Stillen unit installed for some 2 weeks, now. Although the Stillen instructions were quite ambiguous, I have the airbox installed in under an hour. The infamous M6 bolt, which mounts at the bottom of the airbox and is attached to the existing AC line mounting bracket, would have been a royal PIA . . . However, with the Powderduct and intake tube removed, it afforded plenty of room for a simple install of the said.

I will reserve my comments with regard to my "Butt" dyno as it pertains to any additional performance gains, because I have no documented data. Nonetheless, I like the way it feels and sounds. At WOT in the lower 3 gears, the car sounds absolutely fantastic.

A well deserved "Thank you!" to Chad at Riverside Infiniti aka chad@infinitispecialists for hooking me up so quickly with the Stillen set-up.

Next, I may opt to remove the K&N coned filter, which came with the Stillen Airbox and replace it with a Popcharger filter unit. What the heck, it's all in fun.

Awesome, thanks for letting us know! Mine should be arriving midweek - can't wait to put it on and see how it compliments my recently installed Crawford plenum.

i was going to get a stillen hf box, but decided against it after reading countless negative posts and dyno's of it losing power .... seems that just a k &n plus removing the power duct and z-tube is enough for intake on a G *shrug*

Yes, the Z tube/K&N combo should be more than adequate. I have not notice any lost of power. Perhaps, the negative reviews were due to certain combinations of mods, which did not work well with one another. Hehehe . . . If I felt a noticeable lost in power, the Stillen set-up would be in the garbage can, right now.

I have had my stillen airbox for 2 years now. I have a 2003 5AT sedan and was pulling off constent 14.500@97.XX so I would say the car does not make any less power if anything more then stock. I also have the borla exhaust btw.

Andy. I have an extra pop charger filter. You'll have to clean it and oil it though.

Want it?

Tony,

Thanks for the offer. I appreciate the gesture. I'm going to run the K&N for awhile . . . Then, perhaps . . . Yes, I will take you up on your offer. Have you installed your Window Up Module, yet? If not, we'll need to hook up soon and get that taken care of. Are you planning on going to any of the upcoming local events?

I installed the Stillen intake and took it off the next day!! I mis-shifted into 3rd gear and the car died because I was in neutral. I resseted the ECU (disconnect battery 12 hrs), but the car still exhibited the same problem. I guess my MAS on my car is more finicky then others. I put the stock intake back on, and to be honest with you, I felt more low end torque. Then again...it could be the supercharger.
