Sorry, I'm still in the middle of the Ocean. Hence no updates. I should be returning home at the end of the month, but am planning a cross country trip (within Japan). So, we'll see what happens. Hopefully I'll have a few more surprises up my sleeve

Since I can't post updates from my car... How about a picture from Malaysia?

Thank you for the compliments. I'll have more pics to show once I get back home. Internet on the ship is not fast by any means.

Finally did the reverse lamps
I cut these open a little bit differently. I cut them the way I was talking about a while ago. This way was tons easier than going sideways. Plus this has the added benefit of not messing up the clear lens either
Unfortunately it means you wont cut it perfectly and will/might hit some of the reflector. Easy fix though. Just paint the clear lens on the inside near the edges. This will help blend it all together.

See where the edge of the red plastic is serrated? This is where you want to cut. It seems to be where the parts were melted together.

Inner housing. This is the area that was painted.

This is the lens. I ended up taping the inside with masking tape and leaving the edges untaped. I also taped the front and sides, but not the back of the sides. After that I painted it black. (Sorry, I didn't take pictures of that. I wanted to get this buttoned up, because it was raining a little bit)

How they look at night. The driver side outer light is a stock JDM light.

Daytime pic taken with my iPhone, sorry
Again driver side housing/lens is a stock JDM unit.

I decided not to use LEDS in the reverse lamps because they are rarely on so what's the point?

I'm still waiting on the inspection certificate for the paint booth on base. This is why I haven't painted the outsides yet. I really want to finish this up. I could paint the insides because I wasn't worried about dust or anything else getting on them. The imperfections are kind of covered up
I'll still use spray paint, as I can only buy real paint in big volumes, so I'll wait until I paint the whole car. Which will be a slightly different paint anyway. I'm thinking Black Pearl. Or a midnight blue. Not sure yet.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Truth is... No updates to be had until today. I am finally working on my headlights. Which lens do you think I should use for my turn signal?

For those of you that want to clear out your turn signal. You cannot just simply pop out the lens. You have to cut it out and then paint the section as it will be orange. The whole part is orange and painted silver.
