Much louder. However, this is gen1... they have a gen2 (or version 2 whatever you want to call it) that supposedly is quieter. It's not fart can sounding or anything... definitely aggressive. The stock sedan exhaust is extremely quiet because of the massive resonator... Stillen is probably the loudest of sedan exhausts. It mellow after a few hundred miles... some people think it's too much and have taken it off... Most that have it though have kept it. You get use to the sound.

I have not heard gen 2 but I guarantee both are louder and more aggressive than stock. If you are only interested in sound you’ll have to listen to both and decide for yourself… if performance is an additional concern and you don’t care about having the louder of the two then go with gen 1. They both show gains, but gen 1 will yield slightly more hp. They made version 2 because the first version was/is just too loud for some people.

this is a weird Thread - The category said exhaust systems, but I’m not sure why a special thread is needed… maybe for vids and sound clips?… Anyway it just dawned on me that my post looks as though I just got my exhaust (since the post date is Mach 07)… however I’ve had it since March of 05. I just wanted to be the first post in new category

I noticed some... not a ton. The sound changes quite a bit obviously. I had CAI insstalled at the smae time so the combo might result different than exhaust alone or CAI alone. Also, the 2nd gen is a littel quieter but with that I've heard it has a littel less gains.

If you just got it, give it a week or so... the ECU needs to adapt and the exhaust might "open up". All I can tell you is I've always dyno'd strong and tracked well against other VQs -so for me the combo of mods I have work well.

FWIW, the MD 1/2" spacer was the most recognizable butt dyno gains I got. Definitely best bang for the buck that I have.

I just got HFC today... still evaluating... seems the low end TQ is a little stronger but it seems sluggish in the mid-upper end. I'm going to have the ECU re-flash updated tomorrow... We'll see how it goes.

With bolts ons you will not get any neck jerking performance gains... and from what I've experienced, the combo of the "right mods" is what will show the best improvement.
