Results from 8/11 LACR drags

Well, it didn't get below 93 until around 9:47pm

Still, the best I could post was 15.1 again.

Actually, i was racing a Talon on one run and cycling thru Clint's Gcomp while waiting for the guy to stage (just couldn;t get it right!) Got lost in my own little world and then I notice he's gone and the light is way green.... DAMNIT!!

I stomp on it and beat him across the line by almost a full second. As it turns out, he'd had about almost a full second lead on me from the tree.

I love the G... it's so much fun.

Also, we have now created a new category in the Top 5 Sedans and Coupes thread in the tech mod forum.

It's called the: TOP 5 Sedan 1/4 miles (with driver and 3 adults passengers). that was a blast... like a high school joy ride with your best buds. I forgot what we ran against, but we beat him with a 15.8 (ROFLMAO)

thanks THX723 and Eldy for keeping me company (and taking your chicken bones with you!)

Cheers, ted

You know it could be far worse than 15.8 w.o. us back there giving you extra traction off the line

I actually had a great time too ... as a spectator. For once, I got to check out just about every single cars out there. Got to see some very nifty cars and bikes. On thing I noticed was how uncommon sub-15 passes were in general at LACR. Some car looked really good and fast down the straight, but no dice in the 14s. It just means that much more when someone hits 13s and even 12s!!!

We also witnessed perhaps the slow ET ever ... a 22.x by an unknown faded gray something sedan. L M A O ! ! !

Make a couple new G owners. One already chimed in and signed up for our Dyno Day on September 4th.

Great fun. Thanks for the ride Ted ... minus the Stillen *grrr*.

Re: Results from 8/11 LACR drags

so what on earth are we doing wrong ted?

i have a 03 5at sedan running very similar engine mods that should put out similar power... the best i could run was 15.2 @ 96.5mph.

blitz intake / z tube / 350evo tb / crawford v.5 / xerd long-tube headers / jic y-pipe / greddy evo / unorthodox crank / ts ecu / grounding wires...

i'm pulling good trap speeds but bad e.t.s and horrible 60's. i think the 19's really weigh my car down on the launch. anyone have any idea how much a torque convertor will help?

I have 19's axis supermesh w dunlop 255/40/19 tires and stock everything and I ran a 15.8 at LACR. What in the heck am I doing wrong? My 2002 auto maxima with a CAI ran 15.4 - 15.5 all day. I want my maxima back!!!

A good stall converter could give you as much as 35 HP. But it isn't cheap we are talking in the range of $650

i think the rotational weight of our 19's are bogging our launches hard. even though they might be lighter then stock, the weight is concentrated on the barrel (as opposed to the rim, i.e. the spokes)
