Where is there a good BBQ place in the Irvine area? Please don't say Lucilles or Joey's BBQ? I'm looking for a mom and pop place that makes awesome BBQ sauce.
I know of one in Ventura called Just BBQ in the food court of the Century Theatres but that is way too far from Irvine.

not in Irvine, but not too far = Tulsa Rib Co on Tustin in Orange is real good http://www.tulsarib.com/contact.html
Rib Trader on Chapman (just east of 55) is okay http://www.ribtrader.com/ but one of the best small BBQ joints in OC is Blakes - it's in an industrial complex in Anaheim near 91 & 55 http://www.blakesplacebbq.com/menu.html Quote:
