6MT clutch pedal squeaking resolved

I know pretty much everyone has/has had the problem with the cluth pedal. Not sure how permanent the solution is but I've found that the vibration and noise is coming from the spring in the pedal assembly. If you step on the pedal just right the assembly flexes from side to side and the spring rubs against the shock housing. Using spray lithium grease I depressed the pedal and exposed the top of the spring where it seats against the shock. Lubed it up and gave her a trail run. Not an ounce of vibration or noise anymore. went ahead and lubed the rest of the joints while I was at it and it's smoother now than it was driving off the lot with 10 miles. You'd think with all the R&D they would have applied a bit of lube at the top of the spring. It was bone dry.

Anywho, give her a shot. Hopefully the noise won't come back. I haven't the faintest clue on how durable and long lasting lithium grease is.

Figured that out over a year ago and let folks know here as well, and FYI after over year of the application NO creaking or squeaking noises with just ONE application, anyways glad you figured it out and are happy with the results!!!!

Wow that's promising! I had looked for a DIY on it but only seemed to find people complaining and saying the dealership fixed it but only temporarily and for a week or a month and then the squeaking came back. I must have missed yours. What kind of lubricant did you use? I stood in home depot reading over all the silicon, lithium, oil type, and wd-40's for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out which one to use. Lithium said auto, long lasting, and metal. Three key words that got the from me.
