Fumoto valve
I am planning to install the Fumoto valve on the G35x. I am debating getting either the "nipple" version versus the "non-nipple" one.
Has anyone installed the N version? How's the clearance?

*bump* any update on this? How did the valve workout, you liking it?
Does the nipple version COME WITH the rubber hose or w/e it is? i blv the size for us is the F103 (F103N for nipple version), right?

The same day I left the dealership I ordered the fumoto valve with the nipple. At 1,500 miles I changed my oil and it was a cinch. I didnt get dirty at all.
I recommend it without any hesitation. The nipple is certainly worth the extra small expense.

The splash sheild we have covering the oil change area def makes me feel easier about getting this. Will give it a shot.

Yep, I purchased the F103n version. If you do, use the YM5 discount code for 10% off. No hose included. You can get this from Home Depot.
I received the valve, but I'm waiting for my next oil change to install it. It seems that even with the nipple, it would still be safe from being hit by rocks, snow, etc...

I purchased both versions. I wish I would've gone the nippless route for both.
1) I used a plastic tube the first time around and it was more time consuming putting it on, taking it off and cleaning it after. (You can buy yards of this stuff at any hardware store for pennies) 2) I have not used the tube since. Don't need it and it's not messy w/out. 3) Oil flows out much faster with the nippleless version resulting in a faster oil change. Bottomline: Fumoto valve is a damn good invention. Just say no to nipples. |

What is there to clean? The used oil goes directly into an old quart of oil container. Once 4/5 are filled up your done. Dispose of the hose correctly and there is no other mess. Take your oil to Advance Auto Parts (In MD area) and they get rid of the oil for free. As per the claim that nippless drain faster, I don’t believe that for a second. I had the nippleless version on my Jeep Wrangler and the nipple version on my civic. No difference in speed of oil coming out. I even installed both on different people’s civics and I NEVER saw any difference in the speed oil comes out. The orifices are the same size.

None. You have to unscrew the 3 screws on the plastic undercover to even see it. It doesnt lower your clearance at all.

Yeah, I've owned the nippless and nipple valves and greatly prefer the one with the nipple. I never clean the hose I use to drain it to the pan--it's a dedicated hose for that purpose! I also have not idea which drains faster--they both drain fast enough!
