Thinking about going back to stock springs...
I'm heavily debating going back to stock, and just wondering if anybody else is having the same struggles.
I'm trying to weigh positives and negatives to having springs, and feeling like the negatives are just out weighing the positives to them. Positives: Gap is gone. Ride is better(personal opinion...but I think it is). Handling is better(some of this due to -2* camber though). Negatives: Still no front camber kits. This creates huge tire wear issues(although I've got almost 14K miles out of my TR1s on this set), but even more it creates a tuck on all the tires that I just don't like. I'm not going to get the back camber kit until I can get the front one, so for now all my wheels are tucked which drives me nuts. Shocks will blow here at some point. I don't know if there is a way to tell, but I can't see me getting more than 2-3 years on stock shocks with H&R springs? Dragging: not the worst of my worries because I'm careful and used to it, but its still a negative. My front bumper definitely has a few scrapes from unavoidable driveways and such. I am really scared about changing back and then the gap bothering me. I would want to keep my 19" coupe rims on, which only looks worse with a gap. I would probably go to a 45 series tire on the fronts to take some of that up, I saw another guy do that and it wasn't a horrible solution. It's heavy on my mind right now because I need tires, and figure I should do all this at once if I'm going to do it. Any feedback and ideas would be appreciated...at worst thanks for letting me vent.

it'll look different to you at first, but you'll get used to it. do be prepared at first tho. I want so bad to drop it some but it's just not feasibly possible with the roads and areas I drive.

Its all part of be dropped, you know those are some of the things your going to encounter dropping your car. Have you ever thought about coilovers, these wont solve your camber issues but they will solve your worry about shocks!

I have swift springs on my car.. And i just had to change tires.. I put on about 16k miles on it.. And front left tires were starting to split... I was in your same situation when I was changing tires, and I still am having same thoughts.. If you are just worrying about the gap, probably it won't bother you that much after few weeks.. On my Coupe I put on thicker tires on to close out the gap before, and I didn't like it because of the noise.. I mean after all everything it totally up to you.. I didn't change mine back to stock yet just cause I am lazy to spend time in my garage lately and it's hot.. HAHA..

16K sounds like good mileage to me...my first set of rear 325/30 goodyear runcraps on my c6z lasted 4400 miles. I bought another set when the ody turned 8600 and another set at 13K. factory fronts still look good

Why not just get some Eibach springs instead of going back to stock? It would give you most of the benefits of the H&R. Plus, due to the more mild drop, your rims won't look as cambered.
I just installed Eibach springs on my G along w/ the rear camber kit. I have the rear camber set to -1 degree and the fronts don't look all that much more cambered. In fact, you should PM ckp. He wants to get rid of his Eibachs to get some H&Rs. Maybe you guys can just trade.

That way, you will be running the same tire and rim sizes at all 4 corners and you can do full tire rotations. When the fronts go to the rears, they will wear evenly b/c your rears will be properly aligned. This is another reason why I like the M45 19s.

I drive around nyc with my drop. I think we have some of the worst roads out here. I say suck it up and enjoy the ride. I don't think we really need a camber kit for the front anyway. =)
