NEED HELP!!! planning a honeymoon to hawaii
as title says I'll be going to Hawaii on mid June for my honeymoon...
This is my very first time and I'm not sure which Island to stay.. I'm looking for a island with shops (my fiancee needs to shop  ), a lot of activities, + over all GREAT CLEAN beach~!!! If any local Hawaiians can give me some ideas I really appreciate your help!! Thanks guys!!

Oahu is the place to go if you want to shop.
The only thing is the beaches are pretty crappy around Honolulu. Too many tourist there too. Maui has nice beaches - but no night life everything closes way early. I got bored in Maui Say hi to DOG if you see him - brah

My hometown is Oahu,Hawaii...grew up there in the hillsides of Pearl City.... it's more city life island. Gotta luv that Ala Moana Shopping ctr. or shopping at DFS Galleria Waikiki or the International Market Place in Waikiki. Yes... they do have clean beaches...you have to travel a bit further out towards the leeward (westside for non-locals or hoales) side of Oahu like the Ko Olina Lagoons or Northshore...also known for the famous shaved iced. Even East shores like turtle bay is nice too or snorkel at Hanauma Bay. There is so much you can do...suggestion: do a 10 day trip and visit all ...ask your travel agent for more details. When ever I get a chance to go home to visit...I hit the Aloha Stadium...The Swap Meet.... where you find best deals on printed style shirts and local trinkets during Weekends
 Maui..is well known for a lot of honeymooners. It is more non-city like. THe scenery there is so prestine. Kauai is known for garden isle...great scenery(Seen Jurassic Park), beaches but night life and shops ends at 8 pm over there. Big Island of Hawaii.... if u luv to play golf...they have great golf courses and resort in Kona side. Visit Hilo's sacred falls... Or visit the Mauna Kea Observatory or The volcano national park. There is so much you can do on this island. Hopes this helps!

First . . . Congrats to you and your bride-to-be.
 We got married in Oahu. Since family and friends were flying in and were going to be spending a good amount of time there, we chose Oahu for its diversity. Plenty to do and much to see. Have been to a few different islands. If you want peace and quite, Kauai is nice place for a honeymoon. Maui would be next on my list. Regardless of where you choose to spend your honeymoon . . . Have a wonderful time. Enjoy!

I have been to three different Hawaiian islands at seperate occasions. I got married in Maui and prior to that I have been in Oahu. We went babymoon in Kauaii.
I really don't think you can have all you want as you pointed out ; Oahu is place for you if you want shopping and some night fun. But then you don't get good clean beaches and ppl are every where you go. Maui would be great if you want some secluded place to share with your fiancee (wife by then) but your shoppping and night life will suffer. I would talk to your fiancee and discuss what is important during the honeymoon.

I never understood the big deal with Hawaii. It's an "OK" place. If you want a honeymoon to remember, stay on the plane for additional 3-4 hours and you can find yourself in HEAVEN - Bora Bora, Tahiti.
