Leaving on my first cruise Sunday- any suggestions?
We are heading out of Ft Lauderdale to the Carribean for 7 days on the Carribean Princess (Princess Cruise Lines) with stops at St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Princess Cays Bahamas. I think we have everything in order as far as paperwork, boarding passes, etc etc...
Any suggestions of things I should be aware of? I am also planning on giving the GF a diamond as well... ![]()

St. Thomas is a beautiful island, you're gonna love it Sean. Make sure you do a tour of the island and see things like Megan's Bay, Blackbeard's Castle, and some shopping in downtown Charlotte Amalie.
All of the food and non alcoholic drinks are included, however alcoholic drinks are not. I haven't been on a Princess cruise, but other the alcohol is certainly not cheap on the other cruise lines that I have been on. The food is top notch on a cruise and you can eat anytime of the day you choose. There is always lots of things to do on the ship while at sea, so don't worry about being bored. Just enjoy yourself, relax, and have a great time. ![]()

I am taking a similar cruise on the 29th on Carnival's ship Glory. This will be my first cruise also except for deep sea fishing and cruises to nowhere. I have booked a side tour to do everything Garnet listed above. I'm looking forward to that. I heard that the "Straw Market" burned down. I read on a site last night that the locals on St Marteen are very big on greetings, so say hello when you go in their shops. They look down on people that wear bathing suits anywhere other than the beach. Are you doing any snorkeling? If so, pick up a couple cheap under water cameras before you go. |

Sweet, not long now for you then. You must be really looking forward to it next week. I am anxious to hear what your thoughts are on the food, and overall experience you have.

Awesome, thanks guys! I hope you guys enjoy your cruises too! I know the GF and I cannot wait. We have started packing and figuring out what else we need before be depart. I will check back in with some pictures when we make it back!!
As for excursions, we only booked 1 in advance. Its a 1/2 day champage catamaran to St. John with snorkeling, should be a good time!!

I'm looking forward to the food for sure. I'll definitely post some pics when I get back. There are two formal dinners on this cruise, my friend is making me go to both of those. I found out yesterday that I have windows in my cabin, not port holes. I don't know how common that is, but it made me happy. |
