What's Your Luggage Of Choice?

I've been a long time fan of Heys luggage and have owned their luggage for a number of years now. While there was nothing really wrong with my current Heys luggage, I wanted to buy something much lighter than what I have.....mostly due to all of the weight restrictions now. After doing lots of research, I decided to go with Heys Flylite hybrid set since it's the worlds lightest hybrid luggage available on the market today. I ordered it last week and got it today.......and I must say that this luggage is freakin' LIGHT!
My 30" piece weighs only a little more than 8lbs. I put my old piece of 30" Heys on the scale and it was over 17lbs.

So what is all the other travelers luggage of choice here?

I recently bought a 3 piece Tommy Bahama set off ebay for a really good price. The build, quality, and extra features are great. I never looked into buying luggage until recently and boy am i glad i snatched up this set. Good luggage can make a trip so much more pleasing.

I have never heard of Heys personally but I have always thought Samsonite is some great luggage to buy. I try and keep an eye out when there are sales and at Costco you can buy it. I know the new 'In' thing seems to be those 4 wheel uprights. Makes you wonder why nobody thought of that concept before!

I don't have a preference, I bought a black set on sale at Penny's, I think it is made by Protocol.

In retrospect, I should have bought something more unique than black, because when you are at the airport baggage claim, they all look the same.
I put some Ron Jon Surf Shop stickers on them so they are more identifiable.

I do have a Samsonite garment bag that has stood the test of time well. It is over 20 years old.

I like the Wenger luggage - it's decently well made, and pretty inexpensive. My theory is that expensive luggage is just going to get destroyed too, so I'd rather spend $70 on a decent bag, vs. a couple hundred for one that may not die as fast, but will look like crap just as fast.

That said, just bought an Eddie Bauer one (check vs. carry-on), and like it - good design, and so far is holding up well.

6MT, I usually buy silver or red for that reason.

I hear ya. My old Heys luggage set was black and it was kind of a PITA to identify at the baggage claim each time. The set I just bought is Olive Green so it will stand out pretty good.

I am still in awe about how light my new luggage set it. Such a huge difference compared to my previous set. This will definitely save me a few $$$ when traveling.

On the third page is a set of American Tourister that looks like a heck of a deal.

I've learned through my extensive traveling not to buy expensive luggages... just something to haul and hold your clothing and other items. I have these old Samsonites that the baggage handlers can throw, toss, kick around and none of my contents were damaged.

I use my old Military Gear Atleast they are designed to for abuse. People in the Airline Industry don't really put a lot of care when it comes to luggages. Any fancy expensive luggages get beat up either at the Handlers loading/unloading zone or when it comes through the Arrival Belt.

Do you guys put some sort of ribbon or marking on your luggages so you can easily spot them as they go around the carousel? I have these rainbow belts that I put around my luggages... I've been hit on by lesbians at airport baggage carousels a couple of times. But they were free and I can spot mine right away.

Wife and I have been very happy with Tumi. I don't recall which set we have. I'll have to look at it when I get home.
