Honeymoon planning, need destination help!

OK- so, we are getting married July 4, 2009. We are planning a 2 week honeymoon in 2 destinations. Both of our parents have timeshares and want to send us on a honeymoon, so it works out well! We have decided that we really want to go to the fairly new Marriott resort in St. Kitts for one of the weeks http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...-beach-casino/

The second week is up in the air: suggestions?

We were thinking Hawaii, but airfare is just so ridiculous from the Virgin Islands to Hawaii or vice versa. So, we started looking at some areas in Mexico like Cabo San Lucas, etc etc. So, give me some ideas of places to looks at that would be a feasible flight from the Carribean- specific resorts or personal pictures/testimonials would be outstanding! Thanks as always!!

Cabo or Can Cun

I paid my for Sister's honeymoon and the initial plan was to the Virgin Island from Mexico and the price was very reasonable.

We are both looking for somewhere very relaxing, laid back, and beautiful. We want a nice resort with a nice beach, great pool, and ideally a nice view. Since it is our honeymoon, a really nice clean up to date room with decent service would be nice as well. I think we would like a fairly quiet beach too. Asking for a lot, I know!!

It would be nice to be able to do some small excursions, snorkeling, catamarans, etc etc. Nothing too big though-

Cabo was/is high on our list but resort availabilty through the timeshares has been tough to come by so far, even a year ahead of time.

by the way, that was very generous of you!

Fiji would be amazing, but the airfare would be killer.

My opinion on Mexico...Cabo and Cancun have almost become cliche. Look at Ixtapa or Cozumel.

Check out Cozumel or Playa del Carmen. I was on my honeymoon at the beginning of June and we were in both places....Cozumel for diving, Playa for food, sightseeing, shopping, hanging out. If you are at all interested in checking out the old Mayan Ruins, there are three that are pretty close and they're really cool.

Both places have loads of 5 star resorts that have private pools, private beaches, spas, room service, etc. We had an amazing time while we are there and can't wait to go back....however, we'll not go the resort route since we spend very little time in the room or on the property anyways.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I really don't recommend Cancun unless you want to go to a drunken frat party in Mexico....I prefer a little more authentic, and you certainly don't get that in Cancun.

Cabo is fun, not sure how it'll compare with Kitts tho.

We had a great time on our honeymoon in Costa Rica; rain forest, volcano, nice beaches, nice people - pretty cool.

Look into the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort in Cabo San Lucas... it's on the Pacific side of the cape, so it's far away from all the fast-paced partying, but it's only about a 15 minute van ride from all that. Also, you get access to Pueblo Bonito's other two resorts (the Blanco and Rose) for even more restaurants/pools, etc.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach

My family has a timeshare at Sunset Beach - it's amazing. Highly, highly recommended.

+1 to everything Nicole said. Both Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen would be great spots. Cancun would be the last place in Mexico I would go for a quiet honeymoon. Some other Caribbean places I would personally recommend is St. Thomas, Turks & Caicos, and the Caymans.
