Washington DC?
Hey guys, I am in DC for a week... friend is here for work, I tagged along for vacation.... already doing all the typical tourist junk, anyone have suggestions of off the tour guide list for me? Thanks! Here until 7/17!

Hey Aaron - check out the National G Club section:
http://g35driver.com/forums/nationalgclub-133/ A lot of the guys/gals there have lived in the area for quite a while and would have great suggestions. I, myself, have only been here a little over a year and wouldn't be of much help with touristy stuff.

go see the new war memorial between the lincoln and washington monument its has all the states and a nice pool thing...pretty cool

Thanks for the suggestion! I am actually looking for more of a non tourist idea... cool spots, hang outs... places I might not read about in the guide at teh airport... You know, cool place to eat, must see locations.... Thanks again!

So far we have done all the monuments on the Mall and Library of congress, woodrow willson house/museum, union station, capital building, white house... and that was our first day and a half in DC... Plan for tomorrow is Arlington and pentagon... anyone know when the changing of the guard happens? Hear it is a cool... I also plan on Holocaust museum tomorrow AM.

Georgetown and the nearby Waterfront. Lots of nice places to eat, shop, and blow your money on booze.
Also check out the Newseum in DC. Its pretty new (no pun intended) and I hear its pretty cool, I haven't had a chance to go check it out yet though.

Spy museum is supposedly awesome.
And +1 on Georgetown and the waterfront just nearby. Great area to walk/eat/shop/booze etc.

Spy museum is on the list, for sure.... Is georgetown/waterfront good places during day or just for night life? I have a lot of free daytime to fill... but seems like most of my evenings have been planned! Museums tomorrow, capital/spy wednesday, and the zoo on thursday... all early afternoon/evening trips.

spy museum seemed like waste of money to me...
if you like fighter jets and airplanes check out the udvar hazy musuem in dulles airport. They have IMAX theatre there too where you can watch DARK KNIGHT but gotta pay for parking...
