Temperature Guage (overheating? maybe)

Since cali has pretty high temperature last week (105-108) when i turned on my AC i saw my temperature guage go up like 2 of those lines, it never went more than that. Is this normal since it was hot and i was going around 75. Im jus scared that it might over heat my car.

Anyone had this problem ? if not anyone have any solutions for it? it happened twise. after that it hasn't gone up at all.

thx in advance

-Kelvin

Don't worry about it. It was very hot out and you were demanding highway speeds and AC. If the gauge went up a line or two during this period it's nothing to worry about as long as in cooler temps it has come back down. If not it's possible you're down a bit of coolant or there may be slight blockage in the system somewhere, although it's doubtful.

You can't flush out your cooling system at home. All you can do is drain about 60% of your coolant from the rad, and change it.
If you want a complete fluid change, go to a Mr Lube or similar and get them to do it.
We have all heard the horror stories about those type of lube places, but its really your only choice.

Im having this similar issue again. My cars temp is reaching way to high...close to overheating 75% high. This only happens when the A/C is on and i am in a stop and go traffic, idling for a while or on the regular road. On the freeway is ok and fine. My A/C starts to get warm and muggy and the temp rises. When i turn off the A/C my temp gauge goes back to normal. This happened before and I did a radiator flush and replaced the thermostat. It worked fine afterwards. Could this had happened again because of the heat here in socal..freakin 108+ lolz?? My mechanic said the thermostat was bad before..did the thermostat go out again?? or could it be something else? How can i check?
