Anyone get the Droid for Verizon?
I got my Droid on Friday and it is awesome except for one thing. The bluetooth connects to my car but I can barely hear the person on the other end and a lot of static. The people on the other end can't even hear me. But it is fine in my wifes car. Whats going on?

You guys should try out the Motorola Cliq from T-mobile. Cheaper plans, and a great phone.

^ But then it's a T-mobile and T-mobile fails big time.

once the call connects, try switching to the handset, wait a second or two, then switch back to handsfree.
That works for me using a Windows mobile phone. The droid's bluetooth stack may suffer from the same problem of incompatibility with the G. |

Thats what I don't understand. i thought Bluetooth is the same across the board, theres a certain standard like 2.1 or something.

yeah, there is a BT standard. However, just like any other standard, not everyone implements it in the exact same way. The Droid is an HTC built phone. I think HTC uses a BT stack and/or hardware module that the G doesn't like. My phone is HTC too.

The droid is a Motorola not a HTC

Technically, you're wrong. Nobody was being specific is all... not sure what the other guy is talking about...
The Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris (completely different phones) was released about the same time... Verizon carries both.

My Bad. The Droid Eris got me confused. End result is still the same. Different manufacturers implement bluetooth differently causing potential problems. Could also be infinities problem. There are large threads all over the web about this. you can dig around on xda-developers.com and find the ones relating to HTC. Sure Motorola forums document it as well. |

Both HTC and Motorola use the Widcomm Bluetooth stack which does not communicate well with the Infiniti hands free system. Other phone manufacturers use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack which seems to work with a wider range of bluetooth devices including Infiniti's hands free.
Check mobile phone forums for solutions to your bluetooth issues.

I did the hack of the widcomm stack for the moto q9c so it would work with my G35. Does anyone know what is required to do a hack with the moto droid?
