Castrol Edge vs Mobil 1 Extended Performance

Hey guys,
I was trying to do some research on my own, but I ended up getting nowhere. Which would you guys recommend Castrol Edge or Mobil 1 Extended Performance?

I used Mobil 1 Extended Performance for about 5,000 miles less then a year
I would not run it for 12,000 miles or even 10, or 8 lol (not worth saving a few dollars vs engine missing up)

I RECOMMEND ROYAL PURPLE! hands down
u will feel the HP gain where with Mobil 1 NOTHING

royal purple is $50 for 5 quarts and a filter at Pep boys (best deal)
I paid over $70 for mobil 1 ext. perf. (NOT WORTH IT)

Not sure if the sale is still going, but Checker/O'Reilys had 5qts. Mobil1 &
Mobil1 filter for 29.99. I have my doubts as to any noticeable difference between regular Mobil 1 vs the extended performance version. The extended performance grade was a similar deal~33.99 for 5qts & filter.

yet another Oil thread....

Castrol Syntec full synthetic shows one of the best wear numbers according to oil reports. And that oil is 35 bucks with filter....when you can find a deal with it.

But if you guys want to spend more money on Royal Purple or what ever thats cool, there is no wrong type of synthetic they are all great.

You must have a sensitive butt dyno.

If you're paying 10 bucks a quart, you may as well get some real stuff like Amsoil

I could use some 20 weight and get 4 hp. Too bad it's crap for the engine.

After my last Mobil 1 oil change I had my oil analyzed by Blackstone. I then switched to Castrol Edge and after that oil change I sent another sample to Blackstone and they confirmed Castrol Edge offered better protection for my engine under my driving conditions.
