I'm still curious about this if you want to elaborate

Anyway - the temps were decent, but this track is 1121.27 ft above sea level:

AT sedan vs MT sedan
60' - 2.271---2.346
1/8 - 9.418---9.570
1/4 - 14.484---14.669

race 2
AT Sedan vs MT Sedan
60' - 2.251---2.274
1/8 - 9.350---9.405
1/4 - 14.390---14.472
MPH - 98.13---98.57

race 3
AT Sedan vs MT Coupe
60' - 2.281---2.473
1/8 - 9.389---9.645
1/4 - 14.436---14.693
MPH - 97.96---97.67
In all 3 races, you are launching better than the MT drivers, sometimes by a significant amount, but they are trapping higher than you in the first 2 races. This basically shows what I was saying before, that its not really the car that is making the difference, but the drivers. Higher trap speeds usually indicate more hp, and the possibility for better times with a better launch.

^true, the reason 6mt is a little challenging to launch on that track because u race every 2 or 3 hours. Tires get cold and u get out of rhythm. Not an excuse of coarse but just an extra challenge.

I hit the rev limiter in all three races which indicates not only is it not all driver but that my trap speed would have been higher had I not botched it. Me launching at 650 RMP does not indicate a good driver either - it indicates the car was able to perform well off idle. I had nothing to do with that.

This particular day the track had to be re-prepped 3 times due to morning drizzle... track conditions were not great for anyone’s launch. But I race these guys at other tracks in other conditions and the results have been similar - until recently after Wally added HFC & headers and got a tune - his car is smokin' now.

We can go on for days about this... but I'm not going to.

What's the reason the coupes have 20 more horsepower than the sedans? Is it because of engine internals?
