Tire Size width on an 8" wheel
Hello.
I will like to know what is the maximum width of tire i can used on my 7 spoke 18" g35 stock wheel (rear) . OEM calls for 245-45-18 which i presently have. Can i used an 255 or 265 with the 8" wide stock wheel. Will this be safe? I tried searching but i cant find any answers. Thanks |

there are a handful and more of people out there running 275/35 on OEM 18's, but typically thats for budget auto-x or racing setups...you could do a 255/40 or even a 265/40 or 265/35 if you wished, but I would suggest finding a tire pressure that was tread friendly. The fronts wheels are also the same size and width as the rears, so you could put the same size tire on front and rear...in case you didnt know.

255/40/18 max for all-around street driving on your 18x8 wheel. Anything larger is "out of the norm" and also above the tire manufacturers recommended size.
