? about the 08s

Seems like you can get the Journey with the Sports Package, which includes the paddles, front fascia side sill, 18" tire/wheel package, etc. Does this differentiate in anyway now with the G35 Sport?

They list an option P94, which are illuminated kickplates. Has anyone gotten this option, and how do they look?

For 2008 the G35S is only available as the 6spd manual. They no longer make a G35S automatic, instead you need to get a non-G35S with the sports package. 07 G35S auto purchasers have a one year model run that gets the S logo on the back with an automatic.

wrong. 08's "sports" come only in 6spd but journeys can get sport package which includes seats, steering wheel, bumper, wheels, brakes, susp[ension, vlsd, paddle shifters, and the S logo on the back.

Nothing substantial has changed...its all just changes with regards to options.

G35S still comes in an automatic, when building your infiniti online, just select Journey, then give it the Sport package...its identical to the 2008 G35S 6MT except its an automatic. For some reason, they did the same packaging deal with the G37S automatic, if you want a sport thats automatic, you'll have to get a Journey thats fitted with the sport package, but you'll always get the S emblem as part of the sport package. Why Infiniti made this change is beyond me, but it'll only confuse those who'd try building your G online. If you were to walk into the dealership it wouldn't be an issue at all.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

I apologize, somewhere on hear I read the only way to get the S logo on an 08 was to get the 6SPD; I stand corrected. I did know that you could get essentially the same car by getting the Journey with sport, but someone said it didn't come with the S on the back.

So I guess it's an Infiniti G35S Journey as opposed to before just a G35S.

so if you buy a journey and opt for a sports package they give you..
-seats
-brakes
-front bumper
-paddle shifters
-sport suspension
-the "s"on the back
-side sills
-steering wheel
-18'' sport wheels

but essentially you still have a Journy with sports package?

Ok INIFNITI that is the stupidiest thing i ever heard....why not just sell you the dam G35S ? Your sticker is gonna say Journey with sports package?
And if you want a true G35S it only comes in 6SP?

IDK am i missing something here?

That's my understanding of it (now). Previously, I thought it was the same except the S badge on the back. I don't understand this change as I think from a marketing standpoint, the 2007 lineup was much easier to understand. I guess this makes it more competitive with the BMWs which offer a sport package as an option rather than a base product.

This is also similar to how the 03-06 G35s were; the sport package coming as an option. Maybe the dealers complained and wanted it back to normal. The 03-06 6SPD G35s automatically came with the sports package but they weren't classified by the dealers as G35 Sports or anything, they were just G35 6MT. Hence, the 08s are G35 Sport 6MT which is probably clear enough for the dealers.

Yup, you're right. But no one will know any better since there is no special badging for Journeys.

It's still the Sport, everything is the same except it's an AT!

07 G35 sedan = 08 G35 sedan
07 G35 AWD = 08 G35 Journey (AWD)
07 G35 Journey = 08 G35 Journey
07 G35 Sport (auto) = 08 G35 Journey (w/ Sport Package)
07 G35 Sport 6MT = 08 G35 Sport 6MT

Hope that clears things up a bit. Basically, the G35 Sport with Auto was deleted and the Sport Package was made available on the Journey.

Looks like your questions have already been answered regarding the sport package on the 08. As for the illuminated kickplates, they look sweet. Here is a pic of Vasiliy's illuminated kick plates on his G37.

Ahhhhh....first confusion, then the nice explanations regarding the 08 lineup.

In 07, the only way to get the bigger brakes, stiffer suspension, paddles, stitching, S badge was to order the Sport which came in either manual or auto. The 07 Journeys could not get the above listed options except for an available Sport 18" tire/wheel package.

Don't get me wrong, this is one great car, but the Infiniti decision-making leaves a lot to be desired. Who's running the show anyways? The X is now offered with a Sport package and rumors of a G37 sedan for 09? Hell just give me the G37xS last year, why don't you!

As for the kickplates, the pics in that thread look awesome. Wonder if they are the same size between the G37 and G35sedan? The only reason I thought they would be offered is because they are listed as an option package (P94) for the 08 G35 sedan in Edmunds.
