Glass Packs (question) ?????

So I searched and really didn't find anything at all on glass packs. Pretty much ALL I know about them is that they are loud, and they cause rasp (but I don't know how extreme this is). As some of you might already know, Im in the process with VQHottness for his Borla exhaust. The only thing im concerned about is that he has two glass packs on the resonator on the y-pipe. His y-pipe was previously damaged, and a muffler shop near him told that the easiest way to fix the damage, was to install two glass packs. VQHottness claims the glass packs sound good, but im just not sure. I was wondering if anyone could help me understand the glass packs a little better. And if this is something I want or if I DONT want it. Thanks

here is a vid of his car with the glass packs and stillen race pipes

He floors it in the video, so its hard to tell exactly how it sounds just under regular driving. also if you listen at the very beginning of the video, you will hear the car at idle.. i sounds like a freakin truck. is this from the glass packs? cause i dont want that. im more into the "tuner" and not the "muscle".. if that makes sense to you

Holy crap lol that thing sounds nasty. That's probably the best sedan G I've heard, if not one of the best G's period that I've heard... do it! Of course it sure as **** isn't going to be quiet hahah

Glasspacks are also called cherrybombs... theyre pretty much straight-thru mufflers with fiberglass surrounding the exhaust pipe to absorb sound or something.

my topspeed exhaust has glass packs.. it sounds sexy and really growls, although it is REALLY loud and lots of drone.. if its just glasspacks and no mufflers/big resonators it's going to drone. if you can get it cheap, buy it and install a muffler or large resonator to it to make it less loud

there is a pic of the exhaust.. as you can see there is a huge resonator/muffler on the end of the y pipe... that is what is replaced with the glass packs.. i believe the mid pipes still do have resonators on them though.. so i really dont think it should be THAT bad.. i mean when he floors it, it def. sounds nice.. but i got to conserve gas a little, so im wondering how much worse the drone/rasp/and deep deep sound it has at idle.. im not really into that deep deep deep sound.. that why im going with borla.. cause its fairly quiet compared to other exhaust

it looks like it would sound sick.. you've still got 2 resonators and a big muffler on the end.. it can't be tooo loud.. my topspeed is just a straight pipe w/ a tiny resonator and 2 glass packed mufflers on the tips.. i think that one is going to sound nice
