Having experience in this area; I'd advise you to stay away from "kits." Retro from listed OEM parts, because most after market $hit is just that.

Those ballast are made in taiwan and McCulloch products have been banned for import so they are just getting rid of excess stock.

Beware if you buy! They don't last long at all!!!!

All that being said, those are listed at a good price, so its up to you!

Some of my friends, along with a few members on this forum have McCulloch HIDs and are very happy with it. One of my friends is a canyon racer, so he NEEDS good lighting, and he has the 5000k McCulloch and coudlnt be happier. Also, I would NEVER go any more than 6000k. Anything more than that doesnt light up the road well, and starts to look cheap and tacky.

Did you have a bad experience with a HID conversion kit? What happend? I'm using one right now, and havent had any problems at all. Actually, I've never heard of anyone having problems with an HID conversion kit.

I haven't personally but I know plunty who have. A lot of these kits are really cheap, or are using cheap pieces. (but still cost a pretty penny)

I'm just saying beware of these things. People have melted their g35 housings w/ cheap HID kits.

I say stick to a large name brands, and often you can buy better components "osram/philips" "sylvanna" and get something that will last more than a year, or your car! cheapter than a me-too kit made in china.

The older McCulloch HIDs were "nice." They used "osram/philips" ballasts and "sylvanna" bulbs. The newer "back-door" illegal import kits are made in China and aren't as nice.

I totally agree. If someone is going to spend that much money for HIDs, they should make sure they're not going to waste their money by buying some cheap no-namer brand.

I didnt know that about McCulloch. How can you tell between the older ones and the newer ones?

I use Xetronic, wich is really good and hasnt given me any problems so far. The reason I'm using it over Phillips is because I have a lifetime warranty on these! (hook-ups )

kansai lighting services in duarte has a yellow hid which you can you for the fogs but you'll lose the high beams. it's very nic. if you live in so cal i would recommend them for any lighting services. very good and fast. i think the kits $450-$480 and 3500k or 4000k but for them being yellow.. very bright and NICEEEEE.
