Would like input on "turbonator"

Just curious if it made a difference. I had an A6 2.7T. It had twin turbos and man did it haul a$$. I just took a short road trip on the wife's '05 G, and I was a little disappointed with the acceleration performance. I know performance is expected to drop at higher elevation and hot weather (unlike turbo engines). I was hoping there wasn't going to be much of a difference considerning the G has 30hp and about 20lb-ft more than the A6. I was wondering if anyone has tried the turbonator and felt a difference. TIA.

I have the turbonator and I have to say it really did make huge gains as evidenced on some dyno somewhere.

Let me know if you want a couple, you can hook them up in series. I can get you a good price on the 'special' ones I used. $100 each.

NO. Just... NO.

Dude its a waste of money...doesnt help at all. I think Car and Driver or Motor Trend did a test with it, whoever it was, there were no gains whatsoever.

If you do get the Turbonator . . . Be sure to get the official "Turbonator Certified Racing Decal," as well. Without the official certified racing decal, the unit is pretty much useless.

Hey it really works, but you have to make sure that you install it correctly. If you install it the wrong way your car will slow down and your MPG will get worse.

I read some where that it can add some 80rwhp, but it depends on the batch, which you might get from the factory. It's truly a hit or miss type of deal.

The reason that your a6 felt faster is because it had two small turbos that would spool fast and provide low end toruqe very quickly.... and turbos DO get affected by hot weather. Probably more than N/A cars.

That's what I thought, but I had to ask. And I meant altitude not hot weather, thanks for pointing that out Kevin97A4. Thanks again for your input.

I did a quick title search and found seven threads discussing the Turbonator. Give the search function a try next time.
