Where to mount Parrot CK3100?

Hi everyone. I've installed and mounted the kit but im not totally happy with where i put it. Right now its stuck to the dash just below and to the left of the clock. The mic is mounted onto the 3100 right above it. I snaked the wires for both just under where the dash meets the center console. everything works but i was thinking of moving the display unit under or in the ashtray. I searched and couldnt find too many other installs of the Parrot unit with pics. One person out there did it similar to the way i did. Just wondering if anyone did the parrot install in or near the ashtray?

Thanks a million!

Try using the Proclip model that mounts just to the right of the hazard button. Remove the foot mounting piece on the Ck3100, and just use double-stick tape (or a screw) into the Proclip.

You should also re-route the mic all the way around the trim and locate it near the rear view mirror.

I threw away the proclip that mounts to the right of the ashtray (around the hazard button). It would not let my ash tray open and close smoothly. I don't smoke, but I having part of my car be "broken" just to add a stupid mount.

Now the one that mounts on the left side of the ash tray, I REALLY like that one. It does not impede the tray's opening/closing at all.

The 05' and newer have a proclip that goes on the right side of the console that does not mount around the ashtray/hazard button. It mounts higher up, almost level with the radio. I wish the same would work with the 04's. Oh well!

Gents, thanks for your replies. I actually have the proclip mount youre talking about and didnt like it because of the ashtray problem. (bought it for my ipod and didn't use it). I also didnt like it sitting out in the open taking up valuable air space and ruining the look of the silver trim (sorry dont mean to offend anyone whos using it now). I've since decided to mount it on the dashboard between the clock and drivers console. I put the mic in between where the top dash board meets the radio/HVAC console. I'll post some pics soon. BTW, here is my link to my ipod install from awhile back:

hook the mic on your A-pillar and double-side tape the screen to the cubby hole lid (inside).

The "A" pillar is the pillar to the left and to the right of your window. In our cars it's covered in a felt type material. Kinda separates the door windows from the windshield, but on the inside of the car. If that makes sense.. I'd draw a circle around it in the picture but I don't have a graphic editor with me right now.

Ah ok. I did see some pic of that in another thread. maybe i'll move the mic over there. any idea how difficult it would be to run the cable from there to under the backseat center console? (thats where the control box is)

Thanks.

I mounted my display where the cubby lid flips open under the clock. I obvioulsy don't have nav. With nav this is not possible. In my opinion this is a great place to conceal the unit, but still completely within reach. My mike is attached just above the rearview mirror.

I think it works and looks great.

I don't know how the size of the 3100 compares to the 3200 which I have but mine is mounted as indicated in this thread (pics too). Works great.

Here are some pics of my new Parrot 3200LS. As you can see, I am using the ProClip right-side low mount. I wired an external speaker below the glove box, and the system is also wired to mute the Bose stereo, just like the Nav voice does.

One more pic. Here is the microphone location - just adjacent to the overhead console (wiring goes through it and the headliner) on the windshield side, placed on the driver side.
