Back in November, I found out my wifes father had cancer. Its a pretty late stages of cancer, and they had to do Chemotherapy. Well one of the side effects happens to be platelets.


Anyhow, as a result I now donate blood as often as I can and would like to encourage others to do the same, Giving blood can really help save a life.

Godzilla, I'm sorry your FIL is ill... I can relate. My father's ill too.

I've been in the donor's list for bone marrow since 1991 and I give blood as often as I can.

I will pray that your FIL gets well soon.

Mine's still hanging though the doctor told him only 10 weeks that was in November but we're so happy he's still puting along.

 

i havent donated blood yet... but my dad and mom and older brother do all the time...

 

already did it at my school 4 times, got free chipotle, mickey ds and chinese food ! freaking capri sun straw needles ! but its worth it . save 4 lives , fastest ive done it was 5 mins !

 

im scared of needles...and to hear that they are capri sun straw sized...makes me even more scared

 

^^ LOL no, they're not that big. I've a chicken too when it comes to needles... I won't even get my ear pierced... but when you give blood, they're not that bad.

I strongly suggest for you guys to donate but you have to be at least 18 years old and there are other rules you have to follow before they'd take your blood.

 

ive donated like 3x im O+. ive been working alot and dont want to wake up any earlyer then i have to, i want to donate and put my self on the marrow donor list. maybe ill do it tomorrow i have the day off
