My Buddy's 82 928 Porsche, 1990 V8 Audi going
Two truly amazing cars from my best buddy. He's the one that got me my G. A real car guy. Has had Roll's, Jenson, Austin Martin, Jag ( 2 seater ), Alpha's and more. He's restored, maintained and driven them all. He does none of the work himself and only has qualified mechanics work on them. Always gone the extra mile. He's letting two go. If anyone in my family needed either of these cars I wouldn't be posting these.
This is his discription to me. #1 Porsche is a 1982 928 with approx. 83,000 KM on it. I believe Kevin detailed the interior on this one on the weekend. It is in mechanically perfect condition--surprises even my own mechanic when he services it. Has new wheels and wide Yokohama tires (2 of which are brand new). Exterior is a dark Brownish/Gray (forgot what they call it) and interior is tan leather. The drivers seat is electrically adjustable in all dimensions (except time) but the passenger seat is manually adjustable. Has sunroof and good air conditioning (both of which are items that frequently fail on older 928's and cost a lot to fix). New radiator. K&O air filter. Car just serviced for summer (plugs etc and oil change). Interior is 9 out of 10 and I think the exterior is same. Oh, and this is important, it's an automatic. Great hold on road but needs to be handled therefore not recommended as average woman's car (no disrespect intended). Powerful stereo system with subwoofer and large supplementary amp. Space saver spare tire (had to come out in order to accomodate the subwoofer and amp). Everything works great and it's driven less than 1000 k per year for the last 5 years. Really good looker and finest example of a car of that vintage on the road. $12,000 (boo hoo) or best offer for quick deal. # 2 The Audi is a black 1990 V8 (that's what the model name is) which was repainted last year and has had all the 150,000 km services performed including timing chain replacement, rotors, etc. Put more than $15000 into it last year because I had planned to give it to my daughter as her first car. Now plans have changed due to behavioual issues on her part. Sunroof, cold air, heated seats front and back, gray leather interior and 180 Km on it. Speed chip installed (gives it about another 25 hp) and it drives like a dream. Great winter car due to 4 wheel drive. have 4 winter tires on separate rims. What can I say--this is a bargain for anyone. My intention is to get a new one and that's the only reason for selling. I realize that black book on this is low, but that reflects a car that has had nothing done on it. You get what you pay for. I don't expect to be reimbursed dollar for dollar just because I decided to make it perfect, but I do expect this fact to be recognized. This drives like almost new for a reason--I put a ton of money into it so that it would be a perfectly safe and attractive car for my daughter. You can buy a cheaper one and then you'll be left with a pile of expenses that will bring you to the lip of bankruptcy. I've already paid the price of admission and this car is ready to go, reliably, for many enjoyable years to come. I will sell for $8500 or best offer. Location Toronto Through the years I've been in both these cars and can attest to all that is as stated. I wish my wife would let me spring for the Audi:mad: , but I do have the G :D so I can't complain. She said, fair is fair and I can't argue. Sam |

If I had a second parking spot I swear I would buy the thing; the paint needs some polishing, but the condition of it in terms of wear is excellent. I didn't see any rust on it which as many of you know is something that commonly kills 928s. It's a testament to the care the car has been given. Not sure if these pics help Sam, but if so feel free to use them: http://gtaindetail.com/fp/928/1.jpg http://gtaindetail.com/fp/928/2.jpg http://gtaindetail.com/fp/928/3.jpg http://gtaindetail.com/fp/928/4.jpg |
Ah, Sam beat me to it. I was going to post. I dislike promoting sales like this; but for $12k that Porsche is a total deal. Honestly if my wife wouldn't kill me I'd buy it. It's so rare to see 928's in that kind of shape. It's a bummer it's an auto but even so; the condition more than makes up for it.
