SleekStyle 06-13-2008 12:43 PM

did you swap your sport brakes for oem brembos from 03-04 coupe? if so id like to know how you made them work since i have oem brembos right now not installed and contemplating whether to sell them or keep them.

thanks so much, and GL with the sale

mrwong 06-13-2008 02:14 PM

City- All the stuff is OEM stuff..Want to try to sell it as a whole first.. before I start parting but i'll keep you updated..

Sleek- Yes I did ...there pretty much plug and play except for the rear bolts which you will need to buy unless yours are included. Some light trimming of the rear dust shield is needed and the rubber lines as well. But since your going brembo anyways might as well get some ss lines. Pretty much it. If you need help lemme know i'm more then happy to swing by and give you a hand.

wow thanks for info, thats exactly what i was looking for

did it make a bid difference after the mod?

chenG35 06-13-2008 07:48 PM

^ya sleek if you got OEM brembos you need to change the rear caliper bolts (2 per side) because the treadpattern are different..

also if you get SS lines.. make sure you get the banjo bolts too because the stock banjo bolts are too long for the brembo calipers

mrwong 06-14-2008 03:32 AM

honestly...with the right pad and rotor combo i think it would be an awesome setup...I was told that changing the BMC and the Booster would help..but i haven't done so because i like the more progressive braking rather then having really sensitive brakes.

I also added a Brembo Caliper Rebuild Kit as well for sale..

SleekStyle 06-14-2008 03:57 AM

thanks for the info fellas

What are the size of the calipers? I'm wondering if the '05 system you are selling is bigger than the '04 sedan system which is tfe same as the Coupe or 350z non-Brembos.

mrwong 06-25-2008 11:07 PM

I believe that the pistons are larger on my 05 setup since they came off a 05 with sport package. I think the 05+ have larger pistons from what I have been hearing..If someone can chime in that would be great.

The Rears are the same size as the 04 I think.

Actually the '04 has single piston front calipers, and I can see that your '05 has a two piston set up.

Two pistons evens wear, bigger disks increases heat capacity and dissipation. Heat is what I care about remedying at this point.

Can you please measure the diameter and thickness of your rotors for me? If they are significantly larger than my '04 rotors I may be interested in your system as an inexpensive upgrade to what I have.

I've found that with the right pad I can achieve the braking I want on the street, but I have experienced extreme heat buildup on the track. Bigger would definitely be better when it comes dealing with the heat built up on the track.

mrwong 06-27-2008 03:35 AM

sure thing sage I will do that either tomorrow or this weekend for you..Thanks for the interest

mrwong 06-27-2008 03:47 AM
