Honestly it shouldn't make any difference if you're taking the wires from directly behind the HU or from the wires right before they go INTO the stock amplifier.

Are you positive that your specific amp and sub combination works? I had one combination that worked, I changed the subwoofer, and it still worked, but when I changed the amplifier, it just didn't work right. I would turn it up and it would cut out. I'd have to turn the whole car off, then turn it back on before the amp would put power to the sub again. I changed amps and it was OK for a while, then I changed the amp AGAIN and it blew the subwoofer haha. I just said F-it and went back to my original setup which I knew worked.

Just saying, working with stock wiring just seems to be much more difficult than if you have an aftermarket HU which is designed to do all the stuff you're trying to do... Stock is NOT lol

NO! lol

Look at it this way... If you're standing at the back of the car, the wires are coming from the front right? Well, the part of the amp that's closest to the front is the INPUT and the wires which are going towards the rear of the car are the OUTPUT. You want to splice into the wires on the input side, before they go into the amplifier for processing!

I'm going to bed, I'll get back with you tomorrow haha. If you have AIM feel free to get at me on there and I'll see if I can help you more.

No, that is the INPUT but yes, you need to splice the blue clip. You don't even need the other one. Okay, as you look at the blue clip. The BOTTOM row doesn't even have to be touched, it's mainly the top one. Is that correct so far?

Can someone help me with the RCA cable to the new subwoofer amp? Did you all just use a regular RCA cord and cut it in half to expose to wires to connect with the spliced 6x9 speakers wires?

I have done many installs before, but never with OEM Headunit and OEM Amp.

Thanks

I think I am correct in saying that you will need RCA cables (the usual RED/White male ends) However, each end should be made of 2 strands so you can splice 4 wires total into the INPUT. I am having trouble finding RCA cables that I can use for this job though..most seem only to come with the Usual RED/White Male ends...with only 2 wires.... Anyone have any ideas?

Lets say you cut the yellow RCA cable in half, there are going to be two wires: one for positive and one for negative. Now you can connect the yellow to the "LEFT" so the colors for that is: TEAL for positive and PURPLE for negative. SIMPLE.. Now use RED for "RIGHT" it's easy to remember since you can remember by the first letter RED "RIGHT". Cut it so the wires expose and then one is for positive and one is for negative. Colors for that is: BLUE for positive and PINK for negative. Now plug the RCA "yellow" into L and "red" into R.
