Sound Deadening

hey,
Anyone who has soundproofed their G sedan, could you tell me how many and which size rolls to i need? i'm taking it to the shop to trade in my ported box for a sealed cuz i'm not happy with the bass since i want tight bass which i'm not getting with ported.
The trunklid rattles a lot, and so does the trunk, i have a feeling my doors are rattling a bit. So while am at it i'm going to ask them to sound proof the doors as well. this way i'll get nice bass. am i correct?

Is this what i need for my doors? http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...35&catid=21963

how good is the product? or should i just go with what ever the shop has which i'm not sure whch brand it is etc.
let me know if there's any other good brands and do tell me how many rolls i would need for the sedan doors and prob the trunk lid as well as the trunk

thanks

Try www.b-quiet.com . They are in Canada.

Give Ian( InTgr8r) a pm....

I'm going to soundproof my car sometime in the early spring. Ian's been a great help with my install.

I would recommend trying RAAM mat: http://www.raamaudio.com/

Back when I had a scion tC, i used about 1.5 rolls to cover my entire car (floor, wheel wells, door panels, etc). works very well, not too expensive, and very friendly customer service. i used the remaining 1/2 roll to deaden my G35 door panels. also, their deadening material isn't pure asphalt, so you don't have to worry about getting pools of tar collecting at the bottom of your car on really hot days.

so if you're planning on covering your entire sedan, 2 rolls should be enough... they also recommend following that up with their closed-cell foam for additional sound-deadening performance (which i bought), but i remember the foam kinda smelled bad so i didn't put it on... the chemical smell has since gone away after airing out in my garage, but i've been too lazy to ever try it.

that's lot of work, it's not something i would wanna do where i have to strip the car. I was thinking of four doors, trunk lid n the trunk it self.

yea, it was a lotta work.. hm, if you're only doing the doors and trunk area, you could probably get by with 1 roll.

Manbir as 35Bills said.
Also RBull, Godzilla168 have sound-proofed their coupes, you could also give them a shout.

i just finished sound deadening my 04 coupe today following shooter's thread..just to give you an idea of how much you need...i used about 32 sq ft of dynamat. i got the custom bulk package which comes with 36 sq ft. i covered the inner surface of my doors, the most of the inner surface of my quarter panels, the entire trunk floor and partially the lid....i followed shooter's advice on sound deadening...search "Sound Deadening the G." his advice on this procedure was excellent and my car is so much quieter...only problem now is that i can hear how bad my stock system is..haha

anyways..you probably need 40 to 45 sqft to include your rear doors..check out that threat...it was of great help to me..

I used about 70 sq/ft. of Elemental Designs eDead in my sedan. Covered all the doors on the inner and outer panels, the whole trunk and trunk lid. I still have to do the C pillars because they're rattling a little bit.
