Slim PS2 glove box Q's

For those who've put their slim PS2's in the glove box, what are you guys using to secure/mount the console so it:

a) doesn't slide around?
b) can still be easily taken out to swap discs?

And are you dremmeling holes in the back of the box to run the AV/DC wires?

Thanks,
B

The back of my glove is dremeled to accomodate the wiring. And it's taped down and have had no issues with it moving around, and can change discs just fine the way it is.

Any particular type of tape I should use?

How clear is the picture from the PS2 ? Is it worth getting the PS3 ? I am about to get the plug and play wires from Dominic to do this .

Shadow ? Where are you getting your stuff installed at ?

heh - getting a ps3 in the glove, or the G for that matter without disturbing anything is gonna be tough, it just wont work, especially putting discs in it - would need some major mod work.

PS2 slim works fine in the glove, i have mine laying there for almost a year so far, and no issues at all, no tape, just a dremel hole in the back to accommodate wiring.

I'm gonna do it myself. There was a shop in Frederick that I planned to do all my AV work through. But after the owner/tech screwed up a few things in my car and had trouble with what should have been very simple tasks, I decided to try my hand at automoblie electronics.

Turns out this stuff is pretty straighforward, especially with a great resource like G35driver.

Did you put the PS2 in your glove box or in the small box that sits just above the glove box and holds the OEM navigation DVD player?

how much ventilation does the slim need? i've seen a regular ps2 installed in the upper compartment.

SILVERSURFERG35 Aug 6, 2007 11:09 AM

I have a Nav so I will have to use the glove box !

shdowflare Aug 6, 2007 12:32 PM

Yeah this is where I planned on installing my PS2...I've got an aftermarket NAV so this is still an option for me...

any skipping problems with the DVDs while driving? what are you guys using to power it? does anyone make a car (12V) adapter for the PS2? or do you need an invertor?

ScubaSteve312 Aug 6, 2007 12:58 PM

i'm pretty sure the slim comes with a 12v cable or you can buy it seperatly

i have no idea about the regular ps2

GreenGoblin Aug 6, 2007 01:00 PM
