03 coupe. Can't pull off bose head unit

I can't pull off the four white plugs into the back of the bose stock headunit. I've a DIY guide off of this forum and it says to push down on the bottom of the clip but that doesn't seem to be working.

Any other tips? I really want to get this off

Yes it does. You should push it up not in. In another word, you squeeze it.

Use a small, flat blade screwdriver. They can be tough to get out, but that works.

+1

maybe have two screwdrivers, one to pry it out while your holding the tab down with the other screw driver.

This is little tricky since you don't have that much slack on the wires and you need that extra third hand to hold the radio/center piece without scratching the finisher.

i just tried again but with no luck. i'm going to kill someone

i had my brother help me out. he held the headunit up while i used two screwdrivers. i still wasn't able to get the damn plugs out.

is all of the white part supposed to unplug? it sort of looks like the plug is nested in a white frame but it also looks like the outer frame comes off with the inner part.

is anyone here from the dc metro area?

It's best to use two people - one to hold the head unit, one to pull the plugs.

I use a flat blade screwdriver - gently press down the release tabs and gently apply firm pressure to ALL the wires in the harness (grab them all so you don't pull any out). A little persistence, possibly some bloody knuckles and you'll have it out.

Got it!

So i finally got the four plugs out. The first two were a bitch but the last two came out fairly easy.

now i have a new problem.

While i was pulling at the top right plug, if you view the back of the unit, i pulled the wires out leaving the connecting white piece still stuck in the back of the unit. now i have no idea which wires plug into which slots. there are 6 wires.
